Things to know There is a small monthly fee charged by Xero for Custom Connections - we’re happy to reimburse you for this or deduct it from your bill (unfortunately we cannot action payment for this on your behalf) NZD $10 / AUD $10 / £5 GBP / USD $5 depending on region If any changes are needed (e.g. adding more permissions, changing the connected Xero organisation), the connection will be deactivated until re-authorised (steps mentioned below).
What we need from you / next steps Confirm the number of tenants (with your VendorSage contact) you want to link to VendorSage and the nominated email address of the user that has Xero admin rights to complete the purchase. For example, if you have a Xero tenant for New Zealand, Australia and the United States; you will need to purchase 3 private connections (e.g. you will receive 3 separate emails from Xero - see step 3)
We’ll create a new Custom Connection app in Xero for your account for each tenant you want to connect.
You’ll receive an email (to your nominated email address) from Xero similar to email below (You will receive an email for each tenant you are connecting):
Click on “Custom Connection subscription” and purchase a connection for the Xero tenant to be connected. Please repeat the process if you received multiple emails / connecting multiple tenants.
After the Custom connection is purchased, please go back to original email from Xero (in step 2) and Click “Connect”
It will ask to select the Xero tenant similar to screenshot below and click “Allow access”:
You will be redirected to the screen below and also received confirmation email from Xero.
The connection process is now completed. Please note that if you are connecting multiple Xero tenants, you will need to repeat the process from each email received from Xero.
Now that you have purchased your private connection(s) You should have received an invite / have access to the VendorSage App and are able to successfully log in
Navigate to and click on Integrations
You should see a Xero account already set-up (there should be one Xero connection per tenant) - select the Xero connection
Click on Edit Configuration to select Accounts you want to sync
Add all Accounts that contain Software spend you would like to track within VendorSage
Click on Save configuration
Your Xero integration is now complete. VendorSage will start syncing your Xero transactions, however, it can take up to 24hrs for data to show within the app.
